The foundation believes that the provision of heathcare services for persons with disabilities involves a group of multidisciplinary professionals including healthworkers. In collaboration with the Ghana Health Services, Healthcare managers received training on setting up and provision of essential rehabilitation services. This was a very interactive and brainstorming session on cost effective and practical ways of establishing healthcare services for adolescents with special needs. We will definitely get there!
Backed by an amazing team, we reached out into the community of Alabar , a suburb of Kumasi to provide education on disabilities, stigmatization and rehabilitation services available to community members. Community chiefs and leaders who play a very important role in our work were present and promised to assist in removing the stigmatization of persons with disabilities. We were excited to do this in collaboration with the Manhyia District Hospital.
